The Curator of Signs — Interview in the IMSc newsletter

Wood and neon sign for Gem & Co in Chennai

Lately I’ve been feeling that all I have done this year is talk about this project and the upcoming book non-stop, but few conversations have been as fun to have as the one with Bharti Dharapuram, who is an Associate at the Centre for Science Communication and Outreach, at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai (IMSc). After my talk and exhibition at the institute over the summer, she reached out to me to request an interview for their newsletter. We had a lovely online chat about my work as a typeface designer and as a chronicler of street lettering. She asked me about my favourite signs from Chennai, and I was very excited to talk about them and share the new photographs I took on my recent trip.

You can read the interview, The Curator of Signs, in the August–September issue of the IMSc newsletter.
